When the owners of this Escondido home approached Derks Construction about remodeling their kitchen and living room, their main objectives were to connect the two spaces and do so in a style that would pass the test of time. “I wanted to be sure we weren’t spending a pretty penny only to have the look go out of style in 5 or 10 years,” said the homeowner, Bonnie K.

By raising the ceiling a foot, expanding the main kitchen window, and removing a non-load bearing wall to open the space to the living area, their kitchen was dramatically changed. An island was introduced to bring the two spaces together and the new fireplace and bar area tied in with matching cabinets and counter tops. With the help of Derks Construction the owners chose the clean simple appeal of shaker style cabinets and the timeless looks of a subway tile backsplash to assure themselves a stylish kitchen for many years to come.

Derks construction is unique to the construction industry. Calls were returned the same day, usually immediately; his team genuinely cares and wants to get the job done right and on time. I confidently recommend Derks construction for your next project!
